Got another tutorial for you today, and this one is inspired by the sea.
It's quite easy to do but it is quite time consuming, so usually I just do this on an accent nail (usually the ring finger) and then paint all my other nails, either different shades of blue or just one shade of blue over each nail.
So here goes...
What you will need:
- Base coat & Top coat
- Sponge
- Dotting Tool (Optional)
- Blue Striper (Optional)
- White Striper
- Blue Sparkle Polish
- Dark Blue Polish
- Light Blue Polish
1. Apply base coat. Once dry apply light blue polish over the whole nail and let dry completely.
2. Using a cosmetic sponge, apply a stripe of dark blue polish and a stripe of light blue polish next to it. It helps if you overlap the two colours where they meet as this helps the colours blend together on the nail.
3. Dab the sponge onto the nail making sure to cover the whole nail from each side. You may need to do this two or three times but let the layers dry slightly between and make sure to reload your sponge each time.
4. Using your white striper, Make a little starfish shape on your nail. Then put dots of white over the nail to make bubbles. For the bubbles you can either just dab the striper on its end or use a dotting tool.
5. This step is optional. Once the white polish is dry, using the blue striper, line the bottom of the bubbles and starfish to make shadows. It just makes them pop out a little more.
6. Once completely dry, add a glitter polish to finish.
Hope you enjoy my take on 'under the sea' theme.
